The Big One is making a few Best of 2009 lists. Forbes writer Monte Burke has it among the best sports books of the year: “A rollicking account … spiked with the you-are-there view of the beauty, folly and humanity of the participants.” Sports blogger Dan Shanoff also has The Big One on his Top 10 list, and Popular Mechanics lists it among the best outdoor and adventure books.
